a rich selection of the region’s legacy. This tour will give you an
overview of all the city has to offer.
Some of the highlights of this tour include:
- Visit the Alcazaba, the 11th-century Moorish
fortress. It combines a rugged fortress feel with some of the characteristic
markings of the later Moorish palaces. At the top of the fortress sits
the Castle of Gibralfaro, at one time considered the most impenetrable
in Spain, with views over the city and the sea.
- Visit the Roman Amphitheatre, built in
the 1st century and rediscovered in the 1950s, the theater is still used
- The Cathedral of Malaga. Locally known
as “La Manquita”– the one-armed lady - legend has it
that the money that was supposed to be used for finishing the second tower
was sent to help the American colonies fight the British in the Revolutionary
- Discover the winding streets and plazas of the
old city, housing Arab baths, Artists’ houses, beautiful
fountains and the charm of a vibrant city which has managed to maintain
a feeling of tranquility.
