VALENCIA CRUISE DAY TOURS
ART TOUR (4 hours)
Valencia has always been one Spain’s most important
sites for ceramic, dating back to at least the Middle Ages. On this tour
you will visit the different sites and buildings that use ceramic as one
of its most important decorative aspects.
Some of the highlights of this tour include:
- Colon Market. This modernista-style market
is one of the best examples of the style in all of Valencia.
- Estación del Norte. The Railway
Station, one of the city's most representative modernista buildings.
- Central Market.
- Plaza Redonda. Built in 1840 and renovated
in 2012, this unique square (whose name literally means round square)
is now a wonderful place to visit the local arts and crafts artisans who
sell lace, embroidery, fabrics and souvenirs among other things.
- The visit ends at the National Ceramics Museum,
located inside the Palace of the Marques de Dos Aguas.
You will discover the evolution of ceramic art in Spain over many centuries
from the Arabs to pieces designed by Picasso.
- Additionally, we could include a visit to the Lladró
Shop in the city center or a tour to the Lladró
Factory, just 10 minutes outside the city.
