GALICIAN SEA FOOD TOUR
Galicia, along the Northwest coast of Spain, has over 1000 km of coast. The most interesting feature of the Galician coast is the “rias”, or rivers. These are inlets from the sea which wind their way into land creating a jagged coastline. The rivers are divided into 4 main regions: Rías Baixas, Rías da Costa da Morte, Golfo Artabro and the Rías Altas. The cold waters of these rivers produce some of the best seafood in the world.
Come to Galicia with us and enjoy the seafood of the Rías: taste the king of Galician seafood, the “Percebe” (goose barnacle), as well as the mussels, clams, crabs and the Galician-style octopus (pulpo a feira) while sipping one of the spectacular Albariño wines from the Rías Baixas which is the perfect accompaniment. Take the opportunity to join in one of the local seafood festivals which are celebrated throughout the year, explore the region and soak up its towns, legends, mansion houses (called Pazos) and even take the chance to fish the rías! We also suggest visiting one of the fish markets and watch the fish and seafood auctions. Lest we forget, the region is also home to some of the best natural hot springs in Europe! These are just some of the activities that are waiting for you in Galicia ...
