Just an hour outside of Madrid is the majestic Aranjuez palace. It is a palace built in the 16th century and was the official residence of the Court. The palace is richly decorated with tapestries and porcelain from the Royal Factory of Buen Retiro. Its enormos gardens are the largest of the period in Spain. In one of the gardens you will find a small palace called ‘La Casa del Labrador’, with an ornate interior.
From Aranjuez, we’ll drive to Chinchón, a beautiful and picturesque medieval village famous for its cobblestone streets and its Plaza Mayor where bullfights have been held. We’ll also visit the ruins of the 15th century castle. The town is also famous for its production of anisette.
