Spend a day following the Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James). Dating back well over 1000 years, the ancient pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, final resting site for the Apostle James, whose bones were discovered in 821 AD. Every year thousands of people flock to the north of Spain to walk some of (or the whole) route, for both religious and non-religious reasons, as the route takes you through some of the most beautiful parts and towns of Spain. We will drive through some of the towns and take in the landscapes including stops in:
- Sobrado Dos Monxes Monastery. One of the most important monasteries in region during Spains Golden Age, it is now a World Heritage Site along the Camino de Santiago.
- We will also include a stop to try one of the great gastronomic treasures of Galicia: cheese. We will visit a cheese factory and have a tasting before we continue on our way.
- A visit to the city of Lugo, a beautiful city with a Roman past. Take a walking tour around the city, including the cathedral and the Roman Bridge and walls.
