Málaga: Antequera and El Torcal Tour

The region of Andalusia has been home to civilizations for almost 5,000 years, and perhaps the best place to get a feeling for this is the often-overlooked town of Antequera, in the heart of the Malaga province. Join us as we take you on a walk through history, from Bronze Age burial mounds to Roman Baths to a Moorish fortress and Renaissance churches. Before we visit Antequera, however, we will stop at the El Torcal Natural Park, a protected wildlife preserve with stunning limestone rock formations that dominate the landscape.

Some of the highlights of this tour include:

• The Alcazaba, the Moorish fortress which stands over the city
• The Santa Maria Church, the first Renaissance style church built in Andalusia
• A one-hour hike through El Torcal to see some of the most impressive rock formations in the park.
